Funeral Director/Embalmer

Jill is a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer. She serves families and also sees to the day to day operations of the homes. 

Jill was born in Aledo, Illinois to Randall and Laurel (Willman) Dennison. She was raised on the family farm, rural Seaton, along with her brother, Brian. 

Jill attended Westmer schools, graduating in 1991. She then attended North Central College, Naperville and Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Wheeling, Illinois. Jill graduated in 1993, receiving the Alumni Award. 

She served her apprenticeship with Family Funeral Services. Then served families as a funeral director/embalmer there for years until returning to school for 1 1/2 years to acquire her Associates Degree from Blackhawk College. She returned to Family Funeral Services and purchased the Aledo and Viola homes in 2002.

In 2003, Jill married Brian K. Henry of Keithsburg. He is employed by the Mercer County Highway Department as an operator. In his free-time he does lawn care and maintenance at the funeral homes. They reside in Viola in the funeral home apartment. They are both active in the community with various memberships and volunteer work. They enjoy golfing, boating and spending time with family and friends.

Lewis R. Jinks

Lewis R. Jinks

Retired Funeral Director

Lew graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1943. From there he entered the United States Army. Upon returning from his military serve in 1946, he served his apprenticeship with Luther Davis Funeral Home in Aledo. He worked there for 10 years until moving to Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island in 1956. He served families with Knox-Larson for 25 years. He moved to Joy and purchased Olin Funeral Home. During the 1980's he purchased Olin Funeral Homes and Crummy Funeral Homes. He retired from Jinks Funeral Homes in 1992. 

When Dennison Funeral Homes opened he came out of retirement to assist at visitations and funerals. 

Lew has since retired from funeral service.  But, his impact will always be evident at Dennison Funeral Homes...by the way we care for the family's we serve and our community.


Laurel Dennison

Funeral Assistant

Laurie will be found assisting at almost every visitation and funeral. She also helps with many other tasks. 

Laurie (Willman) and her husband of 44 years, Randall, live on the family farm, rural Seaton. They have two children, Brian (Monica) and Jill (Brian) Henry and two grandchildren, Carl and Jacob.

Funeral Assistants

After retiring from Heinz in 2010, Pat joined our staff. 

Initially parking cars at funerals, Pat has moved into a bigger role with the funeral home. You may see him working visitations, funerals, running errands or doing general tasks around the funeral home. Pat has been a tremendous addition to our staff. 

Libby retired from Westmer Schools and has joined our funeral home family.  Libby will help with paperwork at arrangements and also assist at visitations and funerals. 

A lifelong residents of Mercer County, Pat and Libby live in Joy, Illinois.   They have two children, Becky (Brad) Long and Jason (Nancy) Bruner and have two grandsons:  Cooper Bruner and Finnley Long.
