Winifred Juras

Winifred J. Juras, 93, of Sherrard, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Funeral Mass is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville with visitation one hour prior. Burial is in St. John's Cemetery, Viola. Memorials may be made to Mercer County Nursing Home or St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville. Dennison Funeral Home, Viola is handling arrangements. She was born Oct. 5, 1913, in Matherville, the daughter of Fred and Catherine English Smith. She married John A. Juras on April 6, 1940. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1987. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville, and also the Matherville Eagles Club. Survivors include two sons and spouses, John J. and Michele Juras, Sherrard, and Fred M. and Judy Juras, Tolono, Ill.; three grandchildren, Johnna Ryan, Davenport, Chad Juras, Matherville, Ryan Juras, Sherrard; great-granddaughter, Jaiden Juras. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Isabelle Nelson; brother, Joseph William Smith; two daughters, Isabelle Ann Husen and Teresa Catherine Juras.
