Wayne Smith

Wayne L. Smith, 78, of Viola, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Pathway Hospice at Terrace Park, Bettendorf. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola, with visitation one hour prior. Burial is in Viola Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lions Club to help the blind. Wayne was born June 24, 1929, in Aledo, the son of Homer and Lettie Baxter Smith. He farmed his whole life in the Viola area. Survivors include nieces and nephew, Geneta (Dan) Lee, Aledo, Debbie Maynard, Aledo, and Barry (Janeen) Maynard, Matherville. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Shirley Maynard and Betty Welch.
