Warren "Otis" "Toad" Wilkens

Warren R. "Otis" "Toad" Wilkens, 47, of New Boston, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at his home. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at New Boston United Methodist. Burial is at New Boston Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at church. Arrangements are by Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. He was born Feb. 5, 1963 in Moline. A son of Kenneth and Sharon Jones Wilkens. He had married Tracey Shoemaker. For several years, his special friend was Jane McNall. Warren was a heavy equipment operator out of the Operating Engineers Union Local 150. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and 3 wheeling. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Buffalo Prairie. Surviving are children, Leslie Heider, New Boston, Andrew August Wilkens, Joy; grandsons, Kevin Andrew Wilkens, Kolton Robert Wilkens and Andrew Kenneth Wilkens; parents, Kenneth and Sharon Wilkens, New Boston; siblings, Teresa (Jason) Foster, San Jose, CA, Penny Conway, New Boston and Michael (Mandi) Wilkens, Wenona, IL and special friend, Jane McNall, Aledo. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth George Wilkens, Jr. and Kevin August Wilkens.
