Twila Rupe

Twila J. Rupe, 82, of Aledo, Illinois died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Twila was born November 9, 1928 in Ottumwa, Iowa a daughter of William and Hallie Vey (Downing) Pettit. She married Jim Rupe on April 23, 1950 in Ottumwa. He died March 26, 2003. Twila was very strong, opinionated and stubborn. She was a homemaker and loved to cook, nobody ever left her house hungry. She enjoyed her family, gardening and feeding the birds. Family left to mourn her loss are daughters, Sherry and spouse John Barnett, Aledo, IL, Lori Rupe and life partner, Lynne Bridgford, Ft. Collins, CO, Brenda Rupe, Aledo, IL; son, Steve Rupe, Aledo, IL; grandchildren, Shane Barnett, Cory Barnett, Cassy Kosiarski, Julia Kosiarski and Becky Rupe; great grandchildren, Kaden and Savannah Barnett and her grand-dog, Cricket. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 17 siblings and daughter, Becky.
