Thomas Harrison

Thomas W. Harrison, 81, of Biggsville, Ill., died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg. Visitation and the sharing of memories will be 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Shriner's Children's Hospital. Tom was born Nov. 15, 1928, in Abington Township, Seaton, the son of Clayton P. Harrison and Florence Willits Harrison. He had been married to Frances Peterson. Tom had many interests including collecting Indian artifacts, and he enjoyed restoring Ford tractors and cars. He was a lifetime farmer and worked right up till the day he died. Survivors include life's companion, Jane Spears, Biggsville; son, Stanley Harrison (Judy West), and daughter, Rita Harrison, of Aledo. His blended family is Jim Spears (Regina), Rozetta Township; Jeff Spears (Bonny) Canton, Ga.; Julie Reese (Todd), Cobden, Ill. Grandchildren are Kortney and Kenzie Harrison, Aledo; Koleece, Nicholas, Olivia, Scott Spears; and Jordan and Emily Reese. One sister, Caroline Douglas, Monmouth; one brother-in-law, Merle Waugh, Aledo; and many nieces and nephews are left to remember him. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lucy Duncan and Alice Waugh; and two brothers-in-law, Lemoine Duncan and Bill Douglas. He will be missed by all.
