Terry William Curtis Sr., 76, of Oquawka, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. Burial will be at Aledo Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., with a rosary service at 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 2, at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the family. He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Beauford L. and Marguerite O. Graves Curtis. He married Joyce Petet April 28, 1951, in Davenport. He last worked as a tool and die maker for George Evans Manufacturing, Moline, retiring in 1992. Terry was a longtime competitive horse rider and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Keithsburg. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Curtis, Oquawka; children (and spouses), Wanda (Bob) Price, Oquawka, Terry (Theresa) Curtis, Eolia, Mo., Karen Switzer, Cape Girardeau, Mo., Mark Curtis, Princeton, Iowa, and Trila Fedele, Middletown, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Jean (Danny) McDonald, Tipton, Iowa, Linda Marie Curtis, Oneida, and Norman (Linda K.) Curtis, Oneida. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger Dean Curtis; grandson, T.J. Price; and sister, Pearl Ann Curtis.
