Steven W. St. John, Sr., 66, of Viola, Illinois died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7th at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, Sept. 6th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Memorials are to the family for a fund to be established.
Steven Wayne was born June 16, 1950 in Moline, Illinois a son of Charles and Shirley Schneider St. John. On November 30, 1968, he married Karen Jones in Milan, IL. Over the years, Steve had been a truck driver for various companies, most recently with DeMarlie Trucking, Reynolds. He retired from trucking in 2005. He enjoyed collecting knives and John Deere accessories. Steve was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved watching NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Karen St. John, Viola; daughters: Kim (Paco) Anguiano, West Liberty, IA, Karrie (Roger) Thigpen, Bryceville, FL and Kelly St. John and wife, New Windsor, IL; son: Steven Wayne St. John Jr., West Branch, IA; grandchildren: Dakota McLaughlin, Sean and Hannah Thigpen and Joshua, Jonathan and Jacob St. John; sister: Jenean Davis, Muscatine, IA; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and best friend, his Chihuahua, Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Terry.
