Stanley C. Buckholtz, 70, of Rock Island, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Basler Funeral Home, Sainte Genevieve, Mo. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home. Burial is at Valle Spring Cemetery, Sainte Genevieve. Local visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or donor's choice. He was born Dec. 25, 1940, in Ozora, Mo., son of Benard and Devota Schweigert Buckholtz. He married Melvadine Hutson July 20, 1963, in Perryville, Mo. Stanley worked for the Corps of Engineers for 38 years.He was a supervisor/boat operator out of the Clock Tower, Rock Island. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife,Melvadine Buckholtz, Rock Island; daughter, Madeline Jett, Sainte Genevieve, three sons, Barry (Jennifer) Buckholtz, Moline, Dwayne Buckholtz, Rock Island, and Craig Buckholtz, Frisco, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Valerie Eisenbeis; son, Christopher "Bosco" Wipfler; and granddaughter, Leslie Jett.
