Ryan Evins

Ryan L. Evins, 19, of Matherville, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, in Moline. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Burial will be at Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville, with graveside military rites conducted. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established. He was born Aug. 15, 1990, in Aledo, the son of Brian and Nanette Redpath Evins. Ryan was a 2008 graduate of Sherrard High School, where he played football and baseball. In 2009, at Fort Sill, Okla., he graduated Basic Combat Training and Field Artillery Tactical Data System Specialist School. He was a member of National Guard Headquarters Battery 2nd/123rd Field Artillery Battalion, Milan. Ryan enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He attended Heritage Wesleyan Church, Rock Island. Survivors include his parents, Brian and Nanette Evins, Matherville; sister, Natasha Evins, Matherville; grandmothers, Jeanette Starr, Rock Island, and Joann Evins, Matherville. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ronald Redpath and Jerry Evins; and uncle, Joe Kyle Redpath.
