Ruth A. Rountree, 80, of New Windsor, Illinois died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center.
Visitation is Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Per her wishes, there are no services. Memorials may be left for Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center.
Ruth Anne was born April 7, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa a daughter of Arthur and Helen Coleman. She married Edwin Burgess Rountree on December 17, 1955. He died Dec. 30, 1992. Mrs. Rountree was a homemaker and wonderful mother. She was a talented artist, mostly working in pastels. Ruth entered her artwork at shows in several states, winning many Best of Show and 1st Places. Her talents were also proven in sewing, knitting and cross stitch. She had a deep love for horses and dogs.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 children: Thomas (Elaine) Rountree, Milan, Debra Slavish and Patricia (Farmer) Miller, all of New Windsor; 18 grandchildren: Danyelle, Alexis, Travis, Ruth Ann, Anna, Kira, Wyatt, Kate, Robert, Tia, Jennifer, Jaymie, Nick, Randi, Ruth Anne, Elizabeth, Attilissa and Drexel; 27 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson and 3 sisters: Pinky Lee, Michigan, Barb Bennett, Arizona and Fannie Mae Bashaw, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Mary Jeanette.
