Russell "Rusty" Miller

Russell "Rusty" H. Miller, 85 of Muscatine, Iowa died Monday January 8, 2007 at his home. Funeral services are Friday, January 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the family. Visitation is Thursday, January 11 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Russell was born November 30, 1921 in Eliza Township, Illinois the son of Harry J. and Minnie Johnson Miller. He married Lola Lucille Lilly, August 15, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. Rusty worked construction in Rock Island County. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. Survivors include; daughters; Carol and Frank Carle, New Boston, Joyce and Carl Freeman, Spokane, MO, Janet Jensen and Donald Fowler, New Windsor and Cheryl and David Cross, Monmouth; son; Russell and Shannon Miller, Muscatine; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; Companion, Phyllis Roland, Muscatine; sisters; Alberta Schmelzer, Muscatine, Bernice Paysen, Elvira, IA and Delores Gritton, Russelville, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson, Jerry Nelson, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
