Russell Issac Gaylor, 90, of Keithsburg, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Keithsburg. Burial is in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg, with military rites conducted by Mercer County V.F.W. Post 1571. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Keithsburg. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo, is handling arrangements. He was born July 12, 1918, in Berwick, Ill., the son of Bart and Lilly Landon Gaylor. He married Mary Louise Jackson. He later was married nearly 50 years to Delma Cooley. He graduated from Keithsburg High School. For 20 years, he worked at a bakery in Burlington, both prior to and then after serving in the Army during World War II. Mr. Gaylor then worked as a pattern maker for Klein Manufacturing, Burlington, for 17 years. He enjoyed repairing tube radios and woodworking. Survivors are daughter, Delores (Ivan) Eicher, Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, son, Charles, sister, Edith Ferguson, and brothers, Bill and Ronald.
