Rupert Linder Rupert W. Linder, 91, of Keithsburg, died Friday, March 23, 2007, at Trinity West, Rock Island. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Keithsburg First Christian Church. Burial is in Peniel Cemetery, rural Joy. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 26, at the church. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to Keithsburg Fire and Ambulance, Mercer County Hospital or First Christian Church. He was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Eliza Township, Ill., the son of Walter and Lillie Morris Linder. He married Pauline Newton Sept. 27, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. She preceded him in death Sept. 25, 1990. He worked at Cannon-Bronze, Keithsburg, for 28 years, retiring in 1983. Rupert enjoyed picking up cans, picking berries and making spread, especially cranberry and apple. He was a member of Keithsburg First Christian Church. Survivors (and spouses) include three daughters, Sherry (Jack) Gridley and Barbara (Keith) Miller, all of Keithsburg, and Joyce (Leland) Hildebrandt, Illinois City; six grandchildren, Bill (Tammy) Willits, Aledo, Kelly Gridley, Galesburg, Colette Gridley, Chyanne Miller, Janilla (Joel) Noe and Charlie (Melissa) Miller, all of Keithsburg; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora Miller, Walcott, and Martha Linder, Milan.
