Rosemary K. Taets, 87, of Rock Island, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Viola. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association. She was born July 10, 1921, in Farmington, Ill., daughter of John and Rose Fransiskovich Kozelichki. She married Joe Slavish in 1940, in Kahoka, Mo. He died in 1980. She married William Taets Feb. 18, 1984, in Moline. Rosemary was a homemaker. She enjoyed big band and country music, dancing and playing pitch. Her memberships included the Eagles Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, and its Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include her husband, William Taets, Rock Island; two daughters (and spouses), Janeen (Barry) Maynard, Matherville, Tamara (Jeff) Krauch, Florence, Ky.; three sons (and spouses), John (Carolyn) Slavish, Coal Valley, Steve (Pam) Slavish, Matherville, Tony Slavish, Anchorage, Alaska; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marsha; three sisters; two brothers; and her first husband.
