Rose Henderson, 94, of Aledo, Illinois died Monday, April 26, 2021 at home.
A memorial visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 30th at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Social distancing and masks will be observed. Please note that the family may or may not be present at the visitation. A private graveside service will be held in Aledo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the Churches of Mercer County Food Pantry.
Alida Rose Miller was born November 28, 1926 in Galesburg, Illinois a daughter of Lewis and Rilla Halsted Miller. On October 8, 1950 she married Leo Francis “Bud” Henderson in Viola. They were married until his death on May 10, 2009. Rose worked in the area as a Registered Nurse, she later made porcelain dolls and sold them from her home. She was a member of Women for Women and lifetime member of Mercer County Historical Society. Rose enjoyed betting on the ponies at the Quad City Downs then later making a donation at the gambling boats. She also liked to work crossword puzzles.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Cindy (Harvey) DeMarlie of Aledo; Debra (Steve) Hardy of Burlington, Iowa, Susan (Jeff) Justin of Cape Coral, Florida, Leo (Teresa) Henderson of Aledo and Gail Henderson of Aledo; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as sisters: Ramona Smith and Mary Lou Mead.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers: Lane and Robert Miller.
