Ronald “Big Ron” Bloomfield, 62, of Viola, Illinois died Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Rock Island, Illinois.

Ronald Dean was born April 17, 1954 in Aledo, Illinois a son of Everett and Ethel Robinson Bloomfield. He was a member of the Winola Class of 1973. “Big Ron” enjoyed any outdoor activity, including gardening and swimming. He was intrigued by the Native American Culture and was an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan. “Big Ron” was always trying to make people laugh. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandson.
Survivors include his daughters: Alicia Bloomfield and Tyanne Johnston, both of Viola; grandson: Keagan Wagoner; brothers: Keith (Vicki) Bloomfield, Viola, Larry (Pam) Bloomfield, Viola and Paul (Mary) Bloomfield, Aledo; sisters: Lorna Hart, Viola, Veranita (Butch) Verbeke, Aledo, Marlene (Bill) Johnson, Galesburg and Terri (Dan) Cavanah, Galesburg and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 brothers.
