Rhonda Miller, 62, of Viola, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Trinity Anglican Church, Rock Island, Father Thomas Janikowski officiating. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. Pallbearers are Michael Hajostek, Emma Hajostek, Benjamin Miller, Jerad Vogt, Tony Osborne, Travis Scherrer, Josh Leatherman and Ian Leatherman, Visitation is Friday, November 16, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Rhonda Eileen Brubaker was born May 7, 1950 in Rock Island a daughter of Ralph and Pauline Johnston Brubaker. She graduated from Villa de Chantel, Rock Island then became a x-ray technician. She married Daniel Miller on August 1, 1970 in Rock Island.
Early in her career, Rhonda worked at Medical Arts. She then assisted at Jinks Funeral Homes for many years. For the last several years, she was a veterinarian technician at Preemption Vet Clinic. She was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Preemption and the Rock Island County Illinois Genealogical Society. She enjoyed doing family tree research, starting in 1982 and continuing to this day.
She enjoyed being outdoors either doing gardening or tending to the horses or dogs she raised. She was a yard blow mold collector and enjoyed all things John Wayne and John Deere. Rhonda was a NASCAR fan, worshiping Jimmy Johnson #48. Her favorite times of the year were Thanksgiving and Christmas, every inch of the house would be decorated. She loved Christmas movies and music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, children and family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Thaddeus Miller, Rock Island, Sarah (John) Foley, Davenport and Rachel (Jerad) Vogt, Viola; 6 grandchildren; mother Pauline Brubaker, Viola and sisters Kris (Greg) Leatherman, Moline and Susan Crawford, Eden Prairie, MN.
She was preceded in death by her father and brother Dan Sprague.
