Phyllis O'Brien

Phyllis T. O'Brien, 89, formerly of Henderson, Nev., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab, Stronghurst, Ill. Per her wishes, there are no services. A private interment will be held in Henderson. Memorials may be left in her name to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be left at www.dennisonfuneralhome.com. She was born July 11, 1922, in New Boston, to William and Enola McDaniel Snyder. Phyllis married Vernon O'Brien in 1944; he passed away Sept. 19, 1990. They lived for many years in Manhattan Beach, Calif., before retiring to Henderson. Mrs. O'Brien enjoyed many things in life -- motorcycles, boating and camping. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Linda O'Brien, Keithsburg; grandson, Jason O'Brien, Torrance, Calif.; sisters, Thelma Shull, Independence, Mo., Alvina Stocker, Davenport, and Lila Miller, Santa Maria, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and step son, Gale "Jerry" O'Brien.
