Peggy Gauley

Peggy J. Gauley, 77, of rural Sherrard, Illinois died Sunday, November 20, 2022 at home.

Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family benefiting Genesis Hospice.  Dennison Funeral Home, Viola is assisting the family.

Peggy Jo was born August 29, 1945 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Robert “Pat” and Muriel King Carey.  On June 23, 1970 she married Marlin Gauley in Kewanee.  Peggy loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker.  She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, canning, and playing the online game Pogo, where she met many friends. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Marlin Gauley; children:  Cherie (Brad) Montgomery, Neal (Chris) Gauley, Greg (Terri) Gauley, Nan Berg, Mike Krulic, Annise (Stuart) Vaughn, Steve (Dan) Gauley, and Justin (Aimee) Gauley; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and sisters:  Eydie Carey Dean and Faye Carey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers:  Tommy, Gary, and Cliff “Cork”; granddaughter:  Kylie Krulic; and great granddaughters:  Jaiden Nichole Tapley and Kaelyn Berg.
