Peggy A. Bruner, 68, of New Boston, Illinois died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at home.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 28th at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at New Boston United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left for the family. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is handling arrangements.
Peggy was born August 22, 1947 in Muscatine, Iowa a daughter of Henry and Vivian McCoy Harmon. She graduated from Westmer High School and later went on to nursing school, graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She loved working with geriatric patients and retired from All American Care, Muscatine, at the age of 62. She married Bill Bruner on December 23, 1991 in Aledo. She was a member of the former Aledo Nazarene Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed to crochet, read, play games, sing and dance.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, step-mother and grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Bill Bruner, New Boston, IL; daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa and Montie Schell, Eliza, IL and Valeria and Chad Szewczyk, Burlington, IA; step-daughters: Dana Downey, Deanna Bruner and Kira Bruner; grandchildren: Montie and Missy Schell, Jason and Tristan Schell, Andy and Sara Sedam, Megan and Brent Shearer, Aaron and Jessica Bigger and Hannah Bigger; 9 great grandchildren; siblings: Robert Harmon, Muscatine, IA, Mary Brasmer, East Moline, IL and Delmar and Donna Harmon, Aledo and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and great grandson, Nathan Robertson.
