Pamela Retherford, 58, of rural Aledo, Illinois died, surrounded by family at her home, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
A celebration of Pam’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7th at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo with Pastor Daren Dietmeier officiating. Pallbearers are Mike Retherford, Anthony Retherford, Randy Morrison, Kevin Morrison, Jason Kellett and Blake Bull. Burial will be in Peniel Cemetery, Joy, Illinois followed by a luncheon at the Joy Fire Station. Visitation is Friday, January 6th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for American Cancer Society benefiting Relay for Life – Cole’s Connections or United Methodist Women of Joy.
Pamela Kay Bryant was born June 11, 1958 in Aledo, Illinois the daughter of Vernon Lynn and Audrey Mae Gilmore Bryant. She was a 1976 graduate of Westmer High School. Pam’s entire career was spent in the healthcare field; having worked at Mercer County Nursing Home, Georgetown Manor and Mercer County Hospital before becoming the office manager for Dr. Rajput, working there for the past 25 years. She enjoyed mowing yard and flower gardening. Pam and Mike enjoyed going on drives, as long as she had her coffee and brownie in hand. She enjoyed watching sporting events and going to country music concerts. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a past president of the Westmer Booster Club and was active with Mercer County Relay for Life.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Mike Retherford, Aledo, IL; son and daughter-in-law: Anthony and Renae Retherford, Blue Grass, IA; grandsons: Landon and Kenton; mother: Audrey Bryant, Joy, IL; mother-in-law: Nancy Retherford, Aledo, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dean and Sue Retherford, Gibson City, IL and John and Lois Retherford, Joy, IL; several nephews and a niece and special friends: Chris Morrison and Kelly Kellett.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, half-brothers: Gary Bryant and Bruce Moran and grandson: Kaleb.
