Nitabelle Whitehall

Nitabelle Whitehall, 88, of Joy, Illinois died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Genesis Senior Living Aledo.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Keithsburg First Christian Church.  Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg.  Visitation is Wednesday, October 22 ^nd from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Keithsburg First Christian Church.  Memorials may be left for First Christian Church or WDLM Radio.  Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is handling arrangements.

Nitabelle was born June 29, 1926 in Viola, Illinois a daughter of Irvin and Verma Baxter Robbins.  After graduating from Viola High School and Business School, she worked as a bank teller.  On April 12, 1949, she married Forb Don “Duck” Whitehall in Viola.  She then raised their four boys on the family farm.  She was a member of Keithsburg First Christian Church; was active with CWF and taught Sunday School for many years.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and decorating cakes.  Her greatest love was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are his sons:  David (Lynne) Whitehall, Lakeside, CA, Rodger (Kathy) Whitehall, Joy, IL, Van Brian (Dianna) Whitehall, Okeechobee, FL and Gary (Lori) Whitehall, Aledo, IL; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and sister:  Doris Hoing, Viola, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don on April 8, 2006, brothers Loren and Jess Robbins and sister Eula Jean Smith.
