Nancy Mills

Graveside memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Viola Cemetery. Nancy A. Mills, 72, of New Boston, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo. Cremation rites have been accorded. Dennison Funeral Home, Viola, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. She was born Jan. 31, 1938, in Viola, the daughter of Howard and Edna Reed Smith. She married Edwin Mills in February 1957, in Viola. She was a homemaker. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball. Nancy loved gardening and bird watching. Survivors include her husband, Edwin Mills, New Boston; three children, Debra Peterson, Blue Grass, Gregory Mills, Matherville, and Brian and Angie Mills, Matherville; six grandchildren, Cassandra and Kelsey Peterson, Anna, Ember and Evening Richardson and Zach Evans; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Schneckloth, New Boston. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Duane Mills; sister, Helen Jones; and brothers, Stuart Smith, Gene Smith and Howard "Bunk" Smith.
