Martha "Dixie" Lindburg, 88, formerly of Viola, Illinois died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Aledo Rehab & Health Care. Funeral service is 2:30 p.m., with visitation from 12:30 p.m. until time of service, on Tuesday, September 20 at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. Memorials may be left for New Life Assembly of God, Aledo, where she was a member. Martha was born May 10, 1923 in Warren, Ohio the daughter of Bennett and Patsy Vance. After graduating high school, she attended Stetson University, Deland, Florida. On July 19, 1947, she married Wallace Lindburg in Viola. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1993. Mrs. Lindburg was a stenographer. At one time she had written for the Aledo Times Record. She had also been a waitress. Being musically talented, she enjoyed playing the piano, organ, accordion, clarinet and violin. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her children and spouses; Sally & Mike Esp, Aledo, Fred & Becky Lindburg, Matherville, Sonja Lindburg, Lisle and Sandy & Ed Hainline, West Palm Beach, Florida, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and brother, Dr. Bennett Vance, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Jeanne.
