Marlene Hedger

Marlene Hedger, 79, of Viola, Illinois died Friday, January 15, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Amana, Iowa.

A family directed visitation is Monday, January 18th from 6:30– 8:30 p.m. at New Life Fellowship, Moline.  Funeral services are 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19th at the New Life Fellowship.  Burial will be in Viola Cemetery.  Memorials may be left for the family.

Marilyn Marlene was born January 11, 1942 in Aledo, Illinois the daughter of John and Evelyn Feik Steadman.  On July 26, 1959 she married Robert W. Hedger, Sr. in Aledo.  They were married until his passing on November 3, 2011.  Marlene had worked at Servus Rubber and also ran an in-home daycare.  She had been a member of the Viola Lions Club.  Marlene enjoyed playing bingo, yard sales and crafting.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children:  Lori Greer of West Branch, Iowa, Jody Baraks of Amana, Iowa and Robert Hedger, Jr. of Amana, Iowa; grandchildren:  Kristi (Jeff Maher) Greer, Joshua Hedger, Ashley Greer, Trevor Hedger, DeAnna Raine and Darla (Cassi-Anna Wiles) Raine; step-grandchildren:  Jeffrey Tunnell, Jr. and Justice Tunnell; great grandchildren:  Joseph Pepper, Patrick Pepper, Makenzie Pepper, Quintyn Mooney, Tristyn Raine and Charlie Mooney; brother:  Ed (Linda) Steadman of Burgess, Illinois and niece:  June Steadman-Kranz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson:  Jarrod Hedger.
