Margaret "Maggie" Castor

Margaret A. "Maggie" Castor, 77, of Rock Island, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Private burial will be at Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. She was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Aledo, daughter of Jim and Pearl Fisher. She had been married to Vernon Castor. Maggie had many jobs over the years including being a waitress, secretary and working with Crop Care. She later was self-employed with many businesses in Reynolds and Andalusia with her greatest love being her tavern, Our Place, in Reynolds. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching and especially being with her family. Survivors include her special friend and companion of 30 years, Les Lashbrook, Rock Island; daughter, Karla Osborne, Rock Island, and Les' children, Connie Horrick and Randy Lashbrook; grandchildren, Eric Osborne, Chad Osborne, Michelle, Kelly, Timothy, Theresa, Kasey and Tony; great-grandchildren, Trent, Arianna, Lilly, Nathan, Kylie, Brian, Eric, Damon, Drake, Kammie, Haley, Alissa, Jamie, James, Timothy, Brandon and Emma'le; brother, Bob (Betty) Fisher, Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents.
