Lucille I. Nebiker, 86, of New Boston, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at her residence. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. There are no services. Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation. Memorials may be made to New Boston Volunteer Ambulance Service. She was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Illinois City, the daughter of Lester and Emma Verstring Sedam. She married Roy P. Nebiker in December 1950, in Richland, Wash. Lucille graduated from Western Illinois University, Macomb. Then, in 1950, she graduated from Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, with a Master of Arts in elementary education. Mrs. Nebiker taught school all over the United States, mostly teaching first grade. During World War II, Lucille served in the Navy for five years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. Survivors include her husband, Roy P. Nebiker, New Boston; one sister (and spouse), Caroline (Jake) Gluba, Keithsburg; three brothers (and spouses), Clyde D. (Lola) Sedam, Andalusia, Clark (Shirley) Sedam, New Boston, Chester (Ressa Mae) Sedam, New Boston; several nieces and nephews, including Ralph Nebiker, Eugenie Schienberg, Gene Safir and Virginia Alsworth.
