Lexina Bruskas

Lexina B. Bruskas, 85, departed this earth on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at home surrounded by her beloved husband and children.

Visitation is Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to a charity of choice.  Graveside services are Thursday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.  Those wishing to attend the service should gather at the iWireless Center parking lot between 12:30 - 12:45 p.m. to proceed on to the Arsenal.  Following the graveside services, please join the family at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Matherville for a time of food and fellowship.

Lexina was born March 8, 1927 to David and Edythe Abbott Butler in Williams, Minnesota.  She married Thomas Gray (deceased) in Chicago in 1945.  Lexina and Anthony “Tony” Bruskas were married December 1971 in Joliet, Illinois.  Lex was an avid gardener, naturalist, traveler and cook.

Survivors include her husband, Tony; three children, Billie Gray, Thomas (Signe) Gray and Dolores (Mark) Verschoore; three grandchildren, Andrew (Kristi) Gray, Jerod (Glenna) Gray and Miranda DeBroeck and six great grandchildren, Dylan and Addison Gray, Axel Gray, Alexis and Paul Pruden and Connor DeBroeck.
