Leah Long

Leah R. Long, 76, of New Boston, Illinois passed away, with her family by her side, on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Genesis East, Davenport.

 

Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded.  A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at New Boston United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be left for New Boston Fire and Ambulance.  Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is handling arrangements.

 

Leah Rae was born May 20, 1946 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Wesley and Nellie Moyers Long.  Over the years, Leah had worked at the Keithsburg grain elevator, owned the Coffee Cup Café in New Boston, and cleaned for Millard Co.  In her free-time she enjoyed baking, cooking, and tending to her plants.  Leah was happiest when she was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters:  Dayna Koch and Lori (Robert) DeFrieze; grandchildren:  Jeremy (Misty) Brushwood, Whitney (Randy) Callis, Jeannie (Kyle) Mitchell, and Hali DeFrieze (Chris Reynolds); great grandchildren:  Annelease, Natalie, Hadlee, Cayson, Alayna, Jaxon, Emery, and Vayda; siblings:  Jake (Laura) Long and LuAnn Krengle; and sister-in-law:  Linda Long.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson:  Casey, siblings:  Bud and Kenny; and uncle:  Gene Moyers.
