Lance Shepard, 50, of Eliza, Illinois unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at home.

 

Visitation is Tuesday, September 13th from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo.   A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 8th from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Eliza Community Center.  Private graveside services will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the family.

 

Lance Robert Powell Shepard was born February 20, 1972 in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Gary and Portia Powell Shepard.  He was a 1991 graduate of Westmer High School.  On August 3, 1996 he married Trudi Hill in Aledo.  Lance started farming when he was 19 years old and continued to farm up until his passing.  Lance loved the outdoors and spending time with his family…they enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and SxS riding. 

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife:  Trudi Shepard; sons:  Dylan and Blake Shepard; mother:  Portia Carle; sister:  Amanda Shepard; and step-brother:  Mike Carle.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, step-father:  Bob Carle, and step-siblings:  Randy Carle and Cindy Bjortvedt.
