Kenneth I. Long, 81, of New Boston, Illinois died Saturday, January 30, 2021 at home.

Visitation is Wednesday, February 3rd from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo.  Private family services will be held followed by burial in New Boston Cemetery.  Social distancing and masks required within the funeral home.  Memorials may be left for New Boston Fire and Ambulance or New Boston United Methodist Church.

Kenneth was born July 29, 1939 in New Boston, a son of Wesley Sr. and Nellie Moyers Long.  He graduated from New Boston High School in 1957.  On June 25, 1962, he married Linda Norton in Muscatine.  Kenny had been a commercial fisherman.  For many years he worked out of the Laborers Union Local 309, retiring in 2003.  Kenny was a 50+ member of the New Boston Fire and Ambulance as well as a New Boston Alderman for several terms.  He enjoyed fishing and drives down by the river.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 59 years:  Linda Long of New Boston; children:  Dave (Donna) Long of Cache, Oklahoma, Doug Long of West Peoria, Illinois and Sarah (Jamie) Kellett of Aledo; grandchildren:  Elizabeth, Jordan and Greta Long and Bailey and Braxton Kellett and siblings:  Luann Krengle, Leah Long and Lynn “Jake” (Laura) Long.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother:  Wesley “Bud” Long, Jr.
