Kathy Crose

Kathy J. Crose, 53, of Viola, Illinois died Monday, September 1, 2014 at her home.

Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 ^th at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Family and friends should gather at 12:45 p.m. in the iWireless Parking Lot to proceed to the Arsenal.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.

Kathy Jean was born November 28, 1960 in Aledo, Illinois a daughter of Franklin and Noma Wakeland Melleny.  She married Everett C. Crose on Dec. 31, 1992 in Aledo.  He died March 9, 2012.  Kathy was a cook at various restaurants in Viola over the years.  She loved to cook and meet people.  Kathy loved being outdoors, gardening, doing yard work and canning.

Survivors include her s tep children: Karin (Don) Welch, Hooker, OK, Rose (Kent) Barrington, Alex, OK, Thomas Crose, Merino, CO, Robert Crose, Knott, TX and Richard Crose, Glendale, CA; 9 step grandchildren; numerous step great grandchildren; her sisters: Nancy McAtee, Viola, IL, Michelle Lee, Illinois City, IL, Isabelle (Robert) Pearcy, Galesburg, IL and Teresa Robinson, East Moline, IL; 1/2 brother Steven Melleny, Little York, IL and 1/2 sister Bonnie Melleny, Viola, IL; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law:  Jean (Marvin) Kitchen, Cable, IL and Margie (Edward) Schrock, Aledo, IL and her beloved pets, Bernie and Frisco.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step-parents and 2 sisters.
