Katharina Brodt

Katharina Brodt, 85, of Bartonville, IL died Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo, Illinois. Services are 11:00 am Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola, Illinois with visitation 1 hour prior. Private burial will be in Orendorff Cemetery, rural Hopedale, Illinois. Memorials may be left for Swedona Lutheran Church. She was born January 20, 1922 in Neu Passu, Yugoslavia to Ludwig and Katharina Binder. She married Jakob Brodt April 14, 1940 in Neu Passu. He died February 13, 2004. She was a homemaker. Katharina enjoyed gardening, embroidery, cooking and baking. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Bartonville and former member of Sherrard Lions Club. Survivors include, daughters; Liz (Bob) Auer, Anchorage, AK and Katie (Dale) Larkin, Mtn. Home, AR and sons Jack Brodt, Sherrard, IL and Ben (Jean) Brodt, Peoria, IL; 10 granchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Elizabeth and daughter-in-law, Audrey Brodt.
