Judith K. Moffitt, 74, of Matherville, Illinois died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.
Visitation is Sunday, May 8th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 9th at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Her longtime friend, Elder Paul Lindburg of Community of Christ Church, Rock Island will officiate. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Judy was born on October 21, 1941 in Rock Island, daughter of John R. and Mildred I. Thompson Jones of Boden, Illinois. She married her high school sweetheart, Fred Moffitt, on February 20, 1960 in Viola, Illinois. Judy enjoyed her collectibles, going to yard sales, dancing and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a homemaker all of her life.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Fred and son, Scott, both of Matherville, Illinois and daughter, Traci of Rock Island, Illinois. Also her grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Kory, Shelby, Dustin and Madelynn and great grandchildren, Brennan, Brandt, Kinsley and Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant son, Thad.
