Joyce Seitz

Joyce Seitz, 56, of Sherrard, Illinois died Sunday, August 8, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospital.

Visitation is Saturday, August 14th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (noon) followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola.  Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Viola.  Memorials may be left for the family.

Joyce Elaine was born May 15, 1965 in Moline, Illinois the daughter of Keith and Allene Hilderbrand Allen.  She graduated from Sherrard High School in 1983.  On September 6, 2012, she married Kenny Seitz in Aledo.  Joyce was a bartender at several establishments in the area, most recently at the Horseshoe Tap in Sherrard.  She enjoyed crafting and decorating for the different seasons, especially Halloween.  Joyce was a real people person, and was always taking care of everyone.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband:  Kenny Seitz of Sherrard; daughters:  Heather Miller, Kristin (Josh) Simmons and Molly (Nick French) Miller all of Matherville; grandchildren:  Ethan, Clark, Isabelle and Charlie; siblings:  Tom Slavish, Mary Engholm and Nancy (Daniel) Foss and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents:  Keith Allen and Allene Slavish Allen and a grandson:  Collin.
