Joe Richter, 76, of New Boston, Illinois was surrounded by family as he passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7th, with visitation 1 hour prior, at New Boston United Methodist Church. Serving as pallbearers are Rusty Zimmerman, Kyle Richter, Jessica Richter, Ed Dellitt, Brad Duncan and Mike Bond. Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery. Memorials may be left for New Boston United Methodist Women or the family. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is handling arrangements.
Joseph F. Richter was born November 27, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa a son of Joseph A. and Mable Franklin Richter. On December 14, 1957, he married Joann Coulter in Davenport, Iowa. Joe worked in the maintenance department at H.J. Heinz in Muscatine for 18 ½ years, retiring in 1999. He also worked as a carpenter for many years. Joe enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 59 years: Joann Richter, New Boston, IL; children: Lisa (Matt) Rzepecki, Silvis, IL and Dale (Niki) Richter, New Boston, IL; grandchildren: Rusty Zimmerman, Kyle Richter and Jessica Richter and great grandson: Karson Richter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Darlene Richter and Raymond Richter.
