John Molburg

John F. Molburg, 73, of Woodhull, Illinois died Friday, January 22, 2021 at home.

Private family services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola.  Following the service, the family will greet friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Woodhull Community Center, masks are required.  Memorials may be left for Cambridge Lutheran Church or Woodhull Fire and Ambulance.

John Fred was born March 13, 1947 in Monmouth, Illinois a son of Fred and Doris June Chard Molburg.  The Alwood High School graduate went on to serve in the United States Army from 1966-1968.  On June 21, 1969 he married Kristine D. Vickers in DeWitt, Iowa.  John had worked for the Rock Island Railroad then later for the Illinois Department of Corrections.   He was a member of Ophiem American Legion, Cambridge Lutheran Church and had served on the Andover Lutheran Church Council.  John enjoyed golfing, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, old tractors and managing Little League Baseball.  His greatest joy was time spent with family.  John was a loyal and honorable man who was always looking after others.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 52 years, Kris Molburg of Woodhull; children:  Aaron (Nicky) Molburg of Elsberry, Missouri, Jason (Amy) Molburg of New Windsor and Seth Molburg of Woodhull; grandchildren:  Katlynn, Joseph, Morgan, Jonathan and Emma; 4 great grandchildren with 1 more lovingly expected and siblings:  Pat (Chuck) Clawson of Aledo and Steve (Lynn) Molburg of New Boston as well as many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law:  LuAnne.
