Jarrod Michael Hedger, 17, of Preemption, died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Trinity West, Rock Island. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Burial is in Viola Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses and for the Autistic Children's Foundation. He was born Nov. 14, 1989, in Aledo, the son of Jody Hedger and Tim Willits. He attended Blackhawk Area Education Center. Jarrod was involved with the Special Olympics, running the 50-meter and the ball throw, winning several medals over the years. He loved dogs, balls and strings. His enjoyment in life was trying to make everyone happy. Jarrod's final act was to give the gift of life through tissue donation. Surviving are his mother, Jody Baraks, Preemption; father, Tim Willits, Shenandoah, Iowa; two brothers, Joshua Hedger, currently stationed in Baghdad, Iraq, and Trevor Hedger, Preemption; one sister, Shayla Willits, Ida Grove, Iowa; grandparents, Robert and Marlene Hedger, Viola, Lorna Hart, Viola, and Larry Willits, Waterloo, Iowa.
