James A. Knox, 57, of Milan, Illinois died Saturday, August 1, 2009 at his home. Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 5 at Viola Cemetery, Viola, Illinois. Visitation is Tuesday, August 4 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. A memorial fund will be established later. Online condolences may be left at www.dennisonfuneralhome.com. James was born March 8, 1952 in Aledo, Illinois the son of Willis and Joyce Lilliman Knox. He married Betty Lindsey on December 17, 1988 in Bettendorf, Iowa. In 2003, Jim retired from Case IH after 30 years. Currently, he was working for Hawkeye Paving, Bettendorf. His many hobbies included spending time with his family, fishing, reading, and Bar-B-Queing. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Mr. Knox was a member of UAW #1304, East Moline. Jim will be sadly missed by his entire family, which include: wife: Betty Knox, Milan; 3 children (and spouse): Teri (Craig) Slater, Viola, Bryce Lindsey, Matherville and Ian Knox, Milan; 3 grandchildren: Kyle Kimball, Korey Kimball and Nathan Slater; his mother: Joyce Knox Stevens, Moline; 4 siblings (and spouses): Diane (Joe) Miller, Crystal Lake, Chris (Mick) Anderson, Missouri, Lisa Knox Lowe, Moline and Joe (Terri) Knox, Moline; many nieces and nephews and a cousin; Bill Kevin (Chris) Lilliman, Milan. He was preceded in death by his father, Willis and an infant brother, Jon.
