Imogene Welch

Imogene Welch, 89, of Keithsburg, Illinois died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo.

Memorial services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Keithsburg First Christian Church.  Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg.  A time of food and fellowship will follow the services.  Memorials may be left for Keithsburg First Christian Church.  Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is handling arrangements.

Imogene was born March 21, 1925 in Keithsburg, Illinois a daughter of Lee and Helen Endicott McCaw.  She graduated from Keithsburg High School, Blackburn College and attended University of Iowa.  On January 18, 1947, she married Dwight Welch at the Christian Church in Keithsburg.  He died February 13, 2014.  She retired, after 20 years, as secretary at Westmer Schools.  After retirement, she and her husband spent winters in Florida and Texas.  Imogene was an active member of Keithsburg First Christian Church, serving as church organist for several years.  She was a 50 year member of Chapter AG P.E.O.  She enjoyed doing crafts, playing cards and reading.  Imogene had a love for music, and enjoyed traveling to bluegrass festivals with Dwight.

Those left to cherish her memory  are her children:  Lindy Welch, Joy, IL, René and Larry Moens, Colona, IL, Greg and Kathy Welch, Keithsburg, IL and Brad and Kris Welch, Aledo; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and brother and sister-in-law: Lane and Betty McCaw, Monmouth, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter-in-law- Janet Welch.
