Gary W. LeHew, 68, of New Boston, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at Trinity West, Rock Island. Services are 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at New Boston United Methodist Church. Burial is at New Boston Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at the church. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to New Boston Cemetery or New Boston Ambulance. He was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Aledo, son of Bill and Arlene Stineman LeHew. He married Cheryl Faye Sedam Aug. 21, 1960, in New Boston. She preceded him in death Dec. 17, 1995. Gary ran the Texaco Station in New Boston. He then became a heavy equipment operator out of Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150 for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and playing cards. Gary played softball for many years as a skilled pitcher. He was a member of Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150. Survivors (and their spouses) include two daughters, Lori (Kevin) Feik, New Boston, and Lynn (Steve) Molburg, Preemption; one son, Greg (Tonya) LeHew, New Boston; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Dorothy) Cox, Josh (Ashley) Osborn, Kevin (Lindsay) Cox, Brittany Cox, Jake Molburg, Zachary LeHew and Madeline LeHew; three great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Betty Sedam, New Boston; two sisters, Peggie (Jack) Puckett and Vicki (Tad) Pomeroy, both of New Boston; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
