Forb Don "Duck" Whitehall, 78, of rural Joy, died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at First Christian Church, Keithsburg, with the Rev. Charles Reynolds officiating. Burial is in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the church. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or North Shore Animal League America. He was born Jan. 31, 1928, near Seaton, son of Forb and Alta Jackson Whitehall. He married Nitabelle Robbins April 12, 1949, in Viola. They farmed for many years in the Seaton area before moving to rural Joy and farming there since 1969. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, and stories of both, reading, watching basketball and visiting with friends and relatives. He was a member of First Christian Church, Keithsburg, and a former Keithsburg Lions Club member. Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Nitabelle Whitehall, rural Joy; four sons, David (Lynne) Whitehall, Lakeside, Calif., Rodger (Kathy) Whitehall, rural Joy, Brian (Dianna) Whitehall, Okeechobee, Fla., Gary (Lori) Whitehall, Aledo; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria (Paul) Rowland, Seaton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Adeline Whitehall and Elaine Frick.
