Florence P. Jinks, 74, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at St. Francis in Peoria, Ill. There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, Aug. 6, beginning at 4 p.m. at her residence. Dennison Funeral Home, Viola, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Florence Pearl was born Jan. 2, 1937, in Rock Island, to Clifford and Velma Fisher Sisco. She married Wilbur "Willie" Jinks March 21, 1965, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 2005. Florence had run a bait shop, worked at Miller Container, then later Rimco in Rock Island. She had been a member of the Moose Lodge bowling team. Her many hobbies included fishing, camping, going to the casino and playing bingo. She loved going on day trips with Wilbur and wintering in Texas. Survivors (and their spouses) include her children, Ron (Wanda) Rosenbaum, Bruce (Cindy) Rosenbaum, Bob Rosenbaum, Richard (Chris) Rosenbaum and Pam (Bob) Henry, all of Rock Island; her "daughter dog," Oreo; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren (with one lovingly expected) and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Les) Simmons, Preemption, Darlene Olson, Seattle, Wash.; brothers, Calvin (Susan) Sisco, Utah, Clarence (Chris) Sisco, Pennsylvania, and Harry Sisco, Iowa; brother-in-law, Lew Jinks, New Boston; sister-in-law, Dorothy Prahl, Rock Island; several nieces and nephews and her winter family in Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Harold Sisco.
