Evrett Sheffield

Evrett K. Sheffield, 6 month old son of Trevor and Abby (Newton) Sheffield of Matherville, Illinois took his last breath on Friday, October 15, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospitals.

Evrett’s family called him their “Heart Warrior” and asks that everyone wear their Our Heart Warrior Rett shirt (or any red shirt) as they come to celebrate Evrett’s life on Tuesday, October 19th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola.  A celebration of life will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 20th at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola.  A luncheon will follow at the Matherville Eagles Hall.  Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established.

Evrett Kane was born March 25, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospital.  From that moment on, Evrett became an inspiration to many.  He was a sweet baby with a big smile that would light up any room or anyone’s day.  His story was shared on his facebook page, where many expressed that Rett’s journey changed their lives.   Through this page - Evretts fight with Truncus Arteriosus! – Evrett and his family found much strength from old and new friends… for this they are forever grateful and thank everyone for following Evrett’s story.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents:  Trevor and Abby; grandparents:  Jason & Amy Newton and LeaErla Sheffield; great grandparents:  Angela Newton, Mike & Roberta Lawson and Ellen Peters; great great grandparents:  Richard and Jane Lawson as well as aunts and uncles:  Kyli, Gracie and Avree Newton, Grant Sheffield, April Sheffield, Tyler & Nicole Sheffield and Zach & Kayla Sheffield.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather:  Samuel Sheffield, great grandfathers:  Richard Newton and Earl Peters and great great grandparents:  Angelo & Bonnie Encapera.
