Everett Coe Crose, 76, of Viola, Illinois died Friday, March 9, 2012 at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.
Visitation is Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., with military rites at 6:00 p.m., at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the family. Please join the family at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15 at the Mercer County V.F.W. for a time of food and fellowship.
He was born June 7, 1935 in Keithsburg, Illinois a son of Everett Harold and Nellie (Corr) Crose. Everett married Kathy J. Melleny on December 31, 1992 in Aledo. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He had his own appliance shop in Viola and drove a school bus for Winola School District. Lastly, he was a janitor at the Mercer County Courthouse and a jailor at the Mercer County Sheriff Dept. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and especially spending time with his family. Everett was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Kathy Crose, Viola; daughters, Karin (Don) Welch, Hooker, OK and Rose (Kent) Barrington, Alex, OK; sons, Thomas Crose, Merino, CO, Robert Crose, Knott, TX and Richard Crose, Glendale, CA; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and sisters, Jean (Marvin) Kitchen, Cable, IL and Margie (Edward) Schrock, Aledo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Warren, sister Ella, nephew Don, niece Rhonda and great niece Dawn.
