Dwight Welch

Dwight B. Welch, 87, of Keithsburg, Illinois died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo.

Memorial services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 17 th at Keithsburg First Christian Church.  A time of food and fellowship will follow the service.  Private interment will be in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg.  Memorials may be left for the Keithsburg First Christian Church.  Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo is handling arrangements.

Dwight was born December 8, 1926 in Seaton, Illinois a son of Jewel and Irene Aubrey Welch.  He served in the Navy during World War II.  On January 18, 1947, he married Imogene McCaw at the Christian Church in Keithsburg.  He was a rural mail carrier, retiring in 1988 and also farmed.  Dwight had a love for bluegrass music.  He enjoyed listening and going to festivals, but loved playing the fiddle and performing with his band.  He also enjoyed gardening.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Imogene Welch, Keithsburg; daughter, René (Larry) Moens, Colona; sons, Lindy Welch, Joy, Greg (Kathy) Welch, Keithsburg and Brad (Kris) Welch, Aledo; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a brother, Dean (Sandy) Welch, Lexington, KY.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
