Drexel Miller

Drexel T. Miller, 81, of Boden, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Viola. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., with rosary recited at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Memorials may be made to the family. He was born May 11, 1929, in Creston, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Cleo McManus Miller. He married Dolores Johnson Sept. 18, 1948, in Aledo. After 25 years of working at Farmall, Drexel retired in 1985. He also farmed. Mr. Miller enjoyed the wildlife in his yard, gardening and especially attending his grandkids' sporting events. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Miller, Boden; two daughters (and spouses), Lisa Miller, Boden, and Missy (Dave) DeBacker, Matherville; three sons (and spouses), Tom (Pat) Miller, New Windsor, Kevin (Dana) Miller, Viola, and Mike (Erin) Miller, Aledo; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Karon, Teresa, John and Russell; and sister, Eloise Peterson.
