Dorothy Livingston

Dorothy E. Livingston, 86, of Aledo, formerly of New Boston, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at Aledo Rehab and Health Care Center. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo, with visitation 10 a.m. to services. Burial is at New Boston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. She was born Jan. 22, 1923, in Burlington, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Verdie Hayes Briear. She married Ed Livingston in 1963, in Aledo. He died in 1980. Dorothy was a bartender in New Boston for many years. She enjoyed playing cards and bowling. Surviving are her daughters (and spouses), Sue (Jim) Daniels, Joliet, Ill., Dee (Harvey) Smith, New Boston, Bobbie Gasaway, Muscatine, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Shane Nelson, Brian Nelson, Clint Nelson, Chad Deitz, Brandon Gasaway, Melanie Howard, David Howard, Jody, Jamie, Terry and Kim; 24 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; and son, Brian Howard.
