Dewey Sharp

Dewey Sharp, 69, of Aledo formerly of Milan, Illinois passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Trinity West, Rock Island. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 12 at Greenview Memorial Gardens Chapel, East Moline. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11 at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Dewey was born September 1, 1940 in LaCrescent, Minnesota, one of eight children of Fred A. and Ada (Iverson) Sharp. He married Linda Teague, of Moline, on July 10, 1961 in Andalusia. Dewey worked had worked at Service Rubber and Farmall. He enjoyed fishing, oil painting, wood working, and most of all spending time with family and grandchildren. Survivors (and spouses) include his wife of 49 years, Linda Sharp, Milan; children, Darren (Chris) Sharp, Oneida and Rhonda Sharp, Milan; granddaughters, Blythe Sharp and Malinda Sharp both of Milan and grandson, Haakon Soggie, Oneida; sisters, Alda "Tootie" Bruckmann, Davenport, Dallas "Dally" Halx, Rock Island, La Dean "Dean" Booth, Rock Island and Norma Kruse, Rock Island and brothers, Gerald (Darlene) Sharp, Rock Island and James (Diane) Sharp, Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dale Sharp and granddaughter, Aleea Sharp.
